Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • What are the opening hours?
For CVR students and staff with any Desjardins debit card, we are open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00-12:00 to serve you.

  • Is the Student Caisse independent or is it professionally affiliated? If so, to what?
The Student Caisse is professionally affiliated to the Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent, in Ormstown.

  • How do I open an account?
Come and see us during opening hours. We will give you all the paper work, and even help you complete the forms. You do need one (1) piece of official ID that we can photocopy, as well as parental signature if you are a minor, to have a debit card. Once your application is complete, we send it to the Caisse in Ormstown, and within two weeks you will receive your full package including debit card right here at school.

  • What if I already have an account, but just need a debit card?
Usually, the debit card form is given with the open account form. If you already have an account with the Caisse Desjardins du Haut-Saint-Laurent and only want a debit card, you can ask for just the debit card form and tell us that you already have an account with Dejardins. Please come during our opening hours. The card will be sent to you by mail.

  • What can I do with my debit card at the Student Caisse?
You can deposit cheques and cash in any amount, but you can only withdraw a daily maximum of $40. All transactions with the student caisse are with your chequing account. If you would like a savings account, at a slightly higher interest rate, you can, with your debit card, use the online service Accès D to open another account.

  • If this caisse is run by students, how do I know my money and financial information is secure?
The student caisse only has the debit machine, not a computer screen. Tellers are never able to see your account balance and transaction history like at a full service branch. You will receive a record of your transaction, but in order to see your balance and history you have to go online at Accès D. It is also part of the training that all tellers act professionally and maintain the confidentiality of their clients and their transactions. If ever you feel a breqach of trust, you should repoert this to the advisor Ms. Sauvé immediately.
